You will never be good enough and you're going to pay for it, forever. Unless...
You can never be good enough to earn God's acceptance, there is nothing you can do to gain His favor. He provided His Law to show you what He requires of you, to illuminate your wicked ways, to show you that sin against infinite God demands infinite punishment, and finally to show you your need of a Savior. He provided His Son, Jesus, as an atoning sacrifice for your wickedness, as illuminated by the Law. However, His sacrifice will only apply to you if you believe that God will honor what Jesus did as a substitutionary payment for your sins and if you will worship Jesus for who He is and what He has done for you. If you repent of your sin and trust in Jesus your sin will be removed, you will be adopted by God as His child, and your nature will be forever altered to be inclined toward obedience. The result of this transformation will set you on a course of worship of God and love toward other people.
God offers acceptance to you if you choose to recognize that you cannot do anything to earn your way into His infinitely rich and glorious graces. You must accept that it is futile to try, that it would take someone who is perfectly holy to accomplish what you are trying to do. You must accept that you are not qualified because you are not perfectly holy and that the only way to be accepted is to accept that Jesus self-sacrifice takes care of it for you, if you will repent of your wicked thoughts and behavior, believe that Jesus has paid your debt for you, and then live a life of love and obedience to Him from here on out. If you will not believe this and choose, instead, to continue to disregard it then after your body dies it will please God to punish your soul forever because of your disdain for His Son, Jesus, who is infinitely holy and worthy of your eternal gratitude and affection. Because you have disdained what is infinite you will be disdained infinitely. However, if you believe and love what is infinite you will experience infinite love and God will see to it that your sin, past or future, will never be held against you. He will remove it from you. He will give you a new nature that is inclined toward righteousness, holiness, and love toward God and other people.
God always keeps His word. If you choose to ignore what God has said and to continue in your disdain for the Truth then all things will work against you for eternity. You may have the most toys and the most pleasant experiences on Earth (though I doubt it) but your time here will cost you an eternity of pain and suffering at the hands of Almighty God, whom you chose to ignore. If God is your enemy then where can you hide from His judgment? However, if you choose to confess and believe these things then all things will work together for your good, for all eternity. God will adopt you as His child and will bless you with eternal peace and joyfulness if you will trust Him, worship Him and love Him. If God is your father, what do you have to fear, what concern can trouble you, what situation or person can harm you, what can you lack that He cannot provide?
Repent for the Kingdom of God has been revealed. Believe and be forever changed!
